Safety & Compliance Management

We specialize in providing safety and compliance management services for inland- and ocean passenger ships and yachts

Safety Management Services

  • Passenger ship owners, operators and managers need to ensure the safety and well-being of their crew and passengers while also maintaining regulatory compliance. That’s where our expertise comes in. We offer a comprehensive range of management consulting services, including the development, implementation, and auditing of custom-made safety management systems (SMS) according to the IMO SOLAS ISM Code, Flag State Yacht Codes, or applicable ISO Standards (e.g. ISO 45001 or ISO 28701). Our team has extensive experience in the maritime and inland shipping industry, and is well-versed in the latest safety regulations and best practices.

  • Our Safety Management Services include:
    • SMS Development: We can help you develop a customized safety management system that meets the requirements of the ISM Code, applicable Yacht Code, ISO standards and/or other relevant regulations. Our team will work with you to identify potential risks and hazards, establish policies and procedures, and create an effective onboard safety culture.
    • SMS Implementation: Once your SMS has been developed, we can help you implement it effectively onboard your ship or yacht. We’ll provide training to your crew and ensure that all policies and procedures are properly communicated and understood.
    • SMS Auditing: We offer regular and impartial SMS internal auditing services to ensure that your safety management system is up-to-date and effective. Our team will conduct comprehensive audits of your ship’s or yacht’s SMS and provide recommendations for improvement.
    • Voluntary Certification: For river cruise ships, and for expedition cruise ships and superyachts under 500GT we can assist with the voluntary certification of your SMS system, with an IACS recognized classification society, such as e.g. ABS, BV, DNV, LR, or RINA.
    • ISM Manager / DPA: For passenger ships and yachts under 500GT we can act as your regional ISM Manager and Designated Person Ashore (DPA), to ensure the safe operation of each ship and to provide a direct link between the owners / operators and the crew on board.
